4X4 OFF ROAD TRIPS

Examples of Off Road Trips

Bidayuh Country 4X4 Full Day Outing

Meet your 4X4 guide and begin drive south toward the Borneo highlands. Stop by an off road section along the way and guide will instruct guests on a basic 4x4 course* on how to handle and drive off road.

Visit Anah Rais, one of the largest Bidayuh longhouse dwellings. Continue drive off road climbing the hilly inner terrain. Stop by a mountain stream for lunch and perhaps a dip in the cool mountain stream. Continue drive to the Semuti village in the mountains on the edge of the Sarawak border. Stop for a visit to the local community that uses compost and organic farming methods. In the late afternoon, return to Kuching.

Conditions for trip:
ª Maximum of 2 guests only. Together in the car would be the local guide.
ªPlease note: We can do the above trip with 3 guests in ONE car to be escorted by two guides in another vehicle (at different cost)
ª As there are no insurance that covers off road driving, guests will be responsible for any damage to vehicles under their control.
ª Packed lunch and mineral water will be provided for the trip.

Included in the cost of the trip are:
ª Fuel and Local guide
ª 4X4 Off Road expedition class vehicle
ª Packed lunch and mineral water
ª Entrance and parking fees to longhouse

Not included:
ª Snacks, alcoholic beverages, etc
ª Personal accident insurance

Meet your 4X4 guide and begin drive south to Bau. Here, we will be conducting a short off road driving course. Drive into Jalan Gunung in the limestone mountains. Continue towards Strass and on to the Lundu areas.

We would reach the campsite at Keranji after about 5-6 hours of driving. Set-up camp and relax. Night meal will be prepared and overnight here.

The following day, we will pack up and embark on drive through Biawak, Sebako and Pueh. There’s a waterfall here to cool off from the heat of the day. In the afternoon, return to Kuching where can can expect to arrive by 5 pm.

Conditions for trip:

• Maximum of 2-4 guests in self drive vehicle.
• Guide and Japanese interpreter would follow in another vehicle (if arranged).
• As there are no insurance that covers off road driving, guests will be responsible for any damage to vehicles under their control.
• You would buy your own food (to your preference). Cost would be about RM10 per meal

Included in the cost of the trip are:

• Fuel and Local guide
• 4X4 Off Road expedition class vehicle
• VHF radio for communications
• Tents and sleeping materials

Not included:

• Meals and drinks
• Snacks, alcoholic beverages, etc
• Personal accident insurance

*Basic Off Road Driving Course covers:
ª Driver position, gripping the steering wheel
ª Convoy rules
ª Using the 4X4 gear system
ª Driver and navigator communications
ª Defensive driving
Using a VHF radio (for overnight trips)
