This has got to be the best 4X4 off road shop in Borneo. No, they are not in the business of supping up your rig but rather this is a specialist off road accessories and suspension shop.

Borneo 4 WD has many nice Aussie goodies such as Bushranger products, the ever sought after ARB - diff locks, bull bars, canopies, Rancho and Old Man Emu shocks and steering dampers, wheel covers and more. They also do Superpro Bushes, Safari snorkels, King Springs, Visy jerry cans, Piranha isolators, lights and Warn winches. OK, the list is endless, but you can have a peek at the range here.

Superpro is a supporter of 4X4 activities in Borneo having co-sponsored the Central Sarawak 4X4 Challenge and also the Heart of Borneo Safari.

Superpro is one part of Fulcrum Suspension of Australia. They are a high performance suspension specialists.

Lim Tai Yin is better known as 'Borneo Lim'. He started life as a stationary supplier and then decided to start selling 4WD equipment in 1995. He confessed that he was not a 4X4 enthusiast but saw this as a business opportunity.

Many parts of Sabah have bad roads with extreme gradient and this meant a few things:

1. only 4X4 vehicles can serve these isolated villages
2. vehicle and parts will wear, especially suspension
3. there will be a demand for after market parts

Borneo 4WD received a lot of support from their principle suppliers in Australia and New Zealand and donated over RM20,000 of prizes to the recently concluded 17th Borneo Safari. (and also last year's safari).

What did we like?

• Service - this is why this shop is successful. Lim knows the ins and outs of his product and has time to entertain us. His staff works well and workshop is very clean - he even has a dedicated staff to clean up and the toilet at his workshop gives much needed relief compared to other workshops.
• Stock, he has most things we wanted and can get them imported.
• What else? Borneo 4WD gives feedback to principle manufacturers of the products for constant quality improvement.
