KINABALU: As days are getting nearer for the upcoming 18th
International Borneo Safari 4x4 Challenge (Oct 26 – Nov 2), more foreign
sponsors are pouring in through their sole distributor, Borneo 4WD and
General Trading Company yesterday.
FOR THE
BORNEO SAFARI…Michael Stone (3rd from right) handing over his

The
company’s proprietor, Lim Tai Yin or better known as Borneo Lim, who has
earlier handed over hefty sponsorship items (mostly four wheel drive
equipment) to Kinabalu Four Wheel Dive Club (KFWDC) from his overseas
principals worth more than RM40,000 has increased the amount to More
than RM50,500 as of yesterday.
His
principal, Fulcrum Suspension Pty Ltd of Queensland, Australia, who has
been regular sponsor towards the event through Lim’s company, handed its
items at Borneo 4WD outlet, Towering Industrial Centre, Mile 4, Jalan
Penampang.
Micheal
Stone, the Product/Export Manager for SuperPro was in town to deliver
the sponsored items to KFWDC president James Wong and event sponsorship
manager Hiew Min Kiyun, witnessed by Lim at the handing over.
Fulcrum
Suspension Pty Ltd has generously sponsored one complete set of
high-quality SuperPro spring bushes (for Land Cruiser), one set of leaf
spring bushes (Hilux Vigo) and Toyota bush kit, worth More than RM2,
700.
During the
handing over, Lim also represented his Australian principals, Lightforce
Australia Pty Ltd and PRP Corporation Pty Ltd of Victoria, handed all
the sponsorship items to James and Hiew the same day.

The two
Aussie companies have dished out a total sum of RM6,000 towards the
Borneo Safari that included Lifgtforce RMDL170LDriving light (RM1,520),
SL240 Hand held Spot light (RM480) and SL170 hand held spot light
(RM420) and one FTP Fiberglass Lid cover for double cabins (RM3,600).
Among the
other sponsorship items that had been delivered earlier were 32-pieces
of German-made Bilstein shock absorbers from Thyssen Krupp Bilstein
Tuning GmbH of Germany worth RM11,950 and three complete sets of King
springs worth RM6,750 from King Springworks Pty Ltd of Gold Coast,
Australia.
According
to Lim, few more of his principals, who have agreed to sponsor the event
are yet to deliver their items namely, from Disc Brake Australia (DBA)
Pty Ltd (RM6,600), four Turf Dek Bed Liners from Fully Equipped Limited
of New Zealand (RM3,800), two Safari snorkels from Safari Automotive
Technologies Pty Ltd of Queensland (RM3,600), three sets of Perma Cool
engine oil cooler kit, Auto transmission oil cooler kit and power
steering oil cooler kit (RM2,450) and ten sets of QFM high performance
brake pads from Queensland Friction material Pty Ltd (RM2,700).
After the
handing over, James thanked Lim for his continuous support towards the
hardcore off-road event and through his business connection, he was able
to convince his principals to be among the major sponsors for the event.
He said,
all sponsorship items that has so far reached more than RM100,000 todate
from various strong supporters and regular sponsors of the event, will
be evenly and accordingly distributed among the winners of the hardcore
competitors as prizes apart from winning attractive cash prizes as well.
