KOTA KINABALU: The annual International Borneo Safari 4x4 Challenge, scheduled for Oct 26-Nov 1 received another booster after yet another foreign principal came out with additional sponsors for prizes in the hardcore off-road competition.
Fully Equipped Limited of Hamilton, New Zealand through its sole distributor Borneo 4WD & General Trading Co. here has been one of the Borneo Safari generous sponsors for the past four years now, this time the company has again sponsored four imported Tuf Dek Liners to the organisers, Kinabalu Four Wheel Drive Club (KFWDC).
The managing Director of Fully Equipped Limited Kyane Scott handed over the sponsorship items to the Borneo Safari Sponsorship manager Hiew Min Kiyun at the Borneo 4WD & General Trading Co premise along Jalan Penampang, Towering Industrial Centre yesterday.
Present to witness the handing over of the four Tuf Dek liners were KFWDC President James Wong and proprietor of Borneo 4WD & General Trading Lim Tai Yin or Borneo Lim.
Kyane said, his company was indeed very proud to be involved with the Borneo Safari as one of the sponsors for the event, and this year, it has again made his pledge come true through the coordination from Lim.
He said, his company as the manufacturer for the renowned Tuf Dek Liners in New Zealand, has agreed to sponsor four such bed liners mainly for Toyota Hilux, Ford Range, Mitsubishi Triton and Isuzu D-Max costing more than RM 3,800.
Thanking the company, James said, all sponsored items from the various sponsors will be awarded to the winners of the Borneo Safari competition Special Stages.
Lim on the other hand has also secured several more sponsors from his foreign principals in Germany, and Australia worth more than RM 41,900, which are to be handed over to KFWDC in stages soon.
Hiew confirmed that he had received numerous other four wheel drive equipment and engines from local sponsors namely, a RM12,000 Toyota Ninja I HD Turbo engine, a RM7000 Toyota 13B engine, a RM4000 Toyota KZJ-95 automatic gearbox and complete Toyota Ninja turbo set costing RM8000.
Meanwhile, Kyane has long list of track records as a calculating champion truck and saloon car racing since he took up racing at an early age of 12 years old and also in the Australian Fujitsu V8 Supercar Development Series.
He took a break from motorsports and one of New Zealand well known motor bike, kart and touring car champion to concentrate in his business. Ends.
