Morning pick-up and drive to Matang Lot village. From here we will walk uphill for 3km on an open and mainly shaded dirt track. This dirt track takes one to a Hindu temple sited where the Rajah's tea and coffee plantation used to be. There are strong evidence that this area had been inhabited before. The temple is unlike any other as it has a lot of wood work. We then veer off the main path on a slippery moss covered trail to the location of the Rajah's hill station was. Although there is no building there, there are archeological evidence that a rather luxurious dwelling used to be located here. After, return to Kuching. *Young
children- the trek may not be strenuous for those who frequently
go for walks in the bush. Pueh Mountain and Longhouse Trek. Early morning pick-up and transfer overland to Sematan. Here we'll embark on a jungle trek up Pueh mountain going a thirds of the way. We veer off the main trail into a forest that has lots of jungle vines and clear undergrowth. Here we would look for unique flora in this unique forest. After, descend down the mountain and proceed to Pueh - Selako (local native tribe) longhouse. Visit this village under one big roof. Light meal and refreshment in the seaside village before heading back to Kuching. Segong Trail. 25 km outside Kuching is the Singgai table top mountain. We'll go overland to an area close to the foot of this mountain and embark on 10 km jungle trail. This is a mixed secondary and primary forest with local flora as well as jungle farms unique to the Bidayuh (local native tribe) in this area. There would be a stream crossing before reaching the end of the trail. We'll head for a light meal and refreshment after this. It's a good idea to bring a change of clothes as one would get muddy and sweaty after the walk.
